The Evolved ED Parenting Programme brought parents together for meaningful sessions on understanding children’s developmental, emotional and social needs. The initiative also extended to programmes supporting students and teachers, with a focus on life skills, well-being and positive learning experiences.
The Beda Bro Partnership, conducted during the Camel Run, gave students an opportunity to engage with the police and develop greater awareness of safety, responsibility and civic consciousness. Alongside this, a Helmet Safety Awareness Programme encouraged parents and students who travel by two-wheeler to adopt responsible road-safety practices and make helmet use a non-negotiable habit.
The school’s commitment to environmental responsibility was reflected through its Say No to Plastic initiative. Moving beyond awareness posters and messages, the initiative has become part of everyday school life. Students now refrain from using single-use plastics and distributing chocolates during birthday celebrations at school. The Student Council organized a spectacular Teachers’ Day celebration, transforming the school into a hub of joy, laughter, and deep gratitude. The programme kicked off with a heartwarming welcome that set a deeply appreciative tone for the day. Students showcased their diverse talents through a series of vibrant cultural performances, including an inspiring song dedicated to teachers but the absolute highlight was a hilarious classroom scenario enactment that had teachers laughing and thoroughly enjoying the amusing portrayal of familiar classroom moments. The energy reached its peak during a series of thrilling, specially curated fun games. Teachers enthusiastically participated in a safe version of Squid Game, tested their agility in Colour Jump, and showed off their intuition in Guess the Object. Every teacher was honoured with a beautiful commemorative coffee mug as a token of appreciation. The memorable event concluded with inspiring words from the Principal, who beautifully emphasized the timeless, invaluable role teachers play in shaping young minds and guiding students toward absolute excellence.
Support Staff Day was celebrated on 4th September 2026 with joy and enthusiasm. Students showcased the various duties of our support staff through creative role-plays and welcomed them with lively dance performances. Fun-filled games and activities added to the celebrations, making it a memorable day of gratitude, appreciation and togetherness.
The students of Class 5 enthusiastically performed different science experiments. They explored various scientific concepts through simple and interesting activities. The experiments helped them observe, question, and understand how science works in everyday life. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that encouraged curiosity and teamwork among the students. The day ended with lots of excitement, smiles, and a spark of curiosity to discover even more!
Sports Day – A Celebration of Young Champions
Our Annual Sports Day was conducted from 18th to 20th August 2026 for students from Pre-Nursery to Grade 2. The campus came alive with excitement, enthusiasm, and cheerful participation as our young learners showcased their sporting spirit through a variety of fun-filled races and activities.
The event provided children with opportunities to develop physical fitness, coordination, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Every little participant gave their best, cheered for their friends, and celebrated the joy of taking part.
The three-day celebration was filled with laughter, energy, encouragement, and memorable moments, making it a wonderful experience for our young athletes. Our little champions truly proved that every child is a winner when they participate with joy and confidence!
Carmel High School hosted its much-awaited Annual Food Fest 2026 on August 14, celebrating the rich flavours, traditions and cultural diversity of India. The Grade 10 students represented different states through vibrant stalls, traditional attire, regional delicacies and creative cultural displays, transforming the campus into a colourful journey across the country. Students from Classes 5 to 9 enthusiastically thronged the stalls, eagerly exploring and enjoying the wide variety of delicacies.
The event commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of the school management, dignitaries, teachers and students. The Chief Guests, Ms. Kavitha, Principal of St. Miras English School, and Ms. Harini G. S., Principal of S. Kadambi Vidya Kendra, shared inspiring thoughts on how food connects people through its taste, aroma and textures.
The fest was filled with enthusiasm as students managed the stalls, prepared and served food, handled sales and worked together with remarkable teamwork and responsibility. The event provided a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom, fostering collaboration, cultural appreciation and the spirit of unity in diversity.
Adding a meaningful purpose to the celebration, the proceeds from all the stalls were donated by the students towards philanthropy, with a special focus on elderly care. This noble gesture gave the Food Fest a truly memorable and heartwarming conclusion, transforming a celebration of food and culture into a celebration of compassion, service and giving.
Students from Early Primary to Middle School enthusiastically participated in a vibrant and rejuvenating musical workshop conducted by SAPA (Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts). The interactive session introduced them to a variety of musical instruments, including the euphonium, trombone, trumpet, and cajón, helping them understand the distinctive sounds and importance of each instrument. Through engaging demonstrations and fun activities, students explored the concepts of high and low pitch, rhythm, melody, and harmony. They also learned the fundamentals of framing a song and composing simple musical pieces, fostering creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. The workshop provided an enriching platform for students to experience the joy of music beyond the classroom. Filled with enthusiasm, participation, and excitement, the session inspired young learners to appreciate the art of music and its creative possibilities. It was a memorable experience that left every student refreshed, motivated, and eager to continue exploring the wonderful world of music.
The school solemnly commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas in collaboration with the 1 Karnataka Air Squadron NCC, Girls Battalion NCC, and Infantry Battalion NCC, paying heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War in service of the nation.
The programme was graced by Retired Brigadier M. B. Shashidhar as the Chief Guest. He laid a wreath at the memorial and offered a solemn salute to the Kargil martyrs, honoring their courage, dedication, and selfless service. Addressing the gathering, Brigadier Shashidhar shared inspiring insights on patriotism, discipline, and the responsibilities of young citizens, motivating the students to uphold the values of national service and integrity.
The NCC cadets paid floral tributes to the fallen heroes with great reverence. The college NCC cadets rendered Shok Shastra and Salami Shastra as a mark of military respect, creating a solemn and patriotic atmosphere. The programme served as a meaningful reminder of the valour and sacrifices of the armed forces and instilled a deep sense of gratitude and national pride among the students and staff.
Carmel High School had the privilege of hosting Stage I of the prestigious Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition 2026 on 24th July 2026. A total of twelve schools participated in this prestigious competition, which was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Roshan Menezes, Administrator, Carmel High School, and Principal Mr. Shaji Antony. The distinguished panel of judges comprised author and educator Ms. Sharada Dubey, bilingual writer and artist Mr. Brijit KT, and Rev. Fr. Varghese Itteera, CMF.
The debate centred on the thought-provoking topic, “Eco-tourism is more harmful than beneficial to mankind.” After the topic was announced, the participants were given an hour to prepare before presenting their arguments and rebuttals before the judges. The debate witnessed a spirited and intense exchange of ideas, with participants presenting well-reasoned arguments.Their confidence, clarity of expression and impressive oratory skills made the session highly engaging and captivating for the audience. The thought-provoking arguments and counterarguments kept the audience attentive throughout the competition.
Presidency School, Nandini Layout, represented by Kushal Kumar N. M. and Siddharth Ashok, emerged as the Winning Team, while National Academy for Learning secured the Runner-Up position. Madhavi Arjun was adjudged Best Speaker, and Sarah Khan was named Runner-Up Speaker.
With an overwhelming response from the community, the 4th edition of the Carmel Run was successfully organized on 19 July 2026 at the B. R. Ambedkar Stadium as part of the institution's ongoing commitment to promoting health and wellness. Over 900 participants, including students, parents, teachers, and members of the public, enthusiastically took part in the event, making it a vibrant celebration of fitness, unity, and community spirit.
The run was ceremonially flagged off by renowned Indian ultramarathoner Ashwini Ganapathi. The event was graced by Arjun Devaiah, an international athlete, as the Guest of Honour, whose inspiring presence encouraged participants to embrace an active and disciplined lifestyle. The atmosphere was further enlivened by celebrity beatboxer, TEDx speaker, and master of ceremonies MC Dhanush Devang, whose energetic performance and engaging interaction added excitement and enthusiasm to the occasion.
A key highlight of the event was its strong message advocating a healthy, drug-free society. Participants took a solemn pledge to stay away from substance abuse and to contribute towards safeguarding the younger generation from the harmful effects of drugs. This meaningful initiative reinforced the importance of making responsible choices and promoting awareness within the community.

The CISCE Zonal Level Yoga Competition was held at Gopalan National School, Whitefield. Our students performed exceptionally well and brought laurels to the school.
In the Under-19 Boys Traditional Yoga event, Tanmay Mehta of Grade 10C and Nishant BC of Grade 10B secured the Silver Medal. Tanmay Mehta also won a Bronze Medal in the Under-19 Boys Artistic Individual Performance event.
In the Under-19 Girls Rhythmic Yoga Performance category, Hasika Vitalpura of Grade 9B and Srini L of Grade 9B secured the Bronze Medal.

The Grade 1 students of Carmel High School enthusiastically participated in a colourful and creative Paper Glass Decoration Activity on 11th July 2026. Using stickers, coloured paper, crayons, glitter, and other craft materials, the children transformed simple paper glasses into beautiful works of art.

The two-day event brought together over 100 teams, each comprising four students, who showcased an impressive range of innovative projects. Their exhibits reflected months of planning, teamwork, and creative thinking, making Scifica 2026 a true celebration of young scientific talent.
Adding prestige to the event, experienced educators from various schools across Bengaluru graciously served as judges. They evaluated each project based on scientific thought, innovation, design, technical skills, presentation, and demonstration, encouraging students to think beyond textbooks and apply science to real-life situations.
The exhibition featured an extraordinary variety of working models and experiments, covering themes ranging from Science Behind Nature to Smart City concepts. Every display reflected the students' curiosity, imagination, and commitment to finding practical solutions to contemporary challenges. The exhibition was truly a feast for both the eyes and the mind.
Among the many remarkable projects, the most appreciated and prize-winning exhibit was The Golden Hour App. Designed by a team of students, the application aims to ensure that accident victims receive the fastest possible medical assistance during the crucial "golden hour" after an accident. The project's social relevance, innovative approach, and practical application earned it special recognition from the judges and visitors alike.
Scifica 2026 was more than just a science exhibition, it was a platform that nurtured curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. The enthusiasm displayed by every participant demonstrated that the future of science is in capable hands.

Our Chief Guest, Ms. Priyanka Bhojwani, founder and CEO of Chebel patisserie, a highly aspiring and successful young entrepreneur, captivated the crowd by sharing her personal success story.
Before the leaders were badged, she reminded everyone that leadership begins with vision and resilience.

The school celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm under the guidance of yoga instructor Mrs. Netravathy. On 19 June 2026, the campus came alive with excitement as the much-anticipated Inter-House Literary, Art, and Cultural Festival unfolded in a vibrant celebration of talent and imagination. Students from all blocks, representing the four houses, participated enthusiastically in a variety of creative and cultural events. Competitions such as Pebble Painting, Elocution, Fireless Cooking, Picture Gallery, T-Shirt Design, Role Remix, Unique Talent, Paper Mosaic, Air crash, Mask Studio and lively dance performances provided a platform for students to express their creativity and skills. The festival was marked by enthusiasm, teamwork, and artistic excellence, making it a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
Through their consistent and outstanding performances across events, EMERALD House secured the championship title and emerged victorious.
Yugantara --The Inter-House Competition was conducted on 18th June successfully and witnessed enthusiastic participation from all houses. Students showcased their talents, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the event. The competition encouraged healthy rivalry and helped build confidence, discipline, and leadership skills among students. The event was well-organized and provided a wonderful platform for students to learn and grow. Congratulations to all participants and winners for their excellent performance."
World Environment Day was celebrated on 6 June at Carmel High School with a strong commitment towards environmental sustainability.
The esteemed guest Priyanka Bhojwani along with the student council members participated in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, emphasizing the importance of forest conservation and the need to prevent deforestation. On this occasion, the school also pledged to eliminate single-use plastics and promote the campus as a plastic-free zone. 23rd edition of Alexander Memorial Volleyball & 7th edition of Alexander Memorial Throwball Tournament 2025-26
Carmel High School celebrated outstanding success in the 23rd Alexander Memorial Volleyball Tournament and the 7th Alexander Memorial Throwball Tournament. In the throwball competition, with 12 teams competing, Carmel secured the Runners-Up trophy. In the volleyball tournament, which saw 20 teams participate, Carmel High School emerged as the Winners, claiming the top honor. These victories are a testament to the dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship of our students. The event was honored by Chief Guest, Mr. Roshan Menezes, who congratulated the students for their exceptional performances and encouraged them to continue excelling in sports.

ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಜನಪದ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಡುನುಡಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಗೀತೆಗಳ ಸಮೂಹಗಾಯನ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉತ್ಸುಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾ ಮನೋಭಾವನೆಯಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸುಮಧುರ ಗಾಯನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ರಂಜಿಸಿದರು. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಗಾಯನವನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು "ಜೋಗದ ಸಿರಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ "ಭಾವಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಾಯಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಗೆ ಗೀತನಮನವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
Carmel High School, Basaveshwarnagar, came alive last weekend as it hosted “Different Strokes,” an interschool cultural fest that celebrated creativity, talent, and spirited competition. More than 15 schools from across Bengaluru participated, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of energy and excitement.
The day-long event was spread across multiple venues—including the school grounds, classrooms, and college campus—each buzzing with enthusiastic participants and cheering audiences. Students showcased their talents across a variety of cultural, literary, and artistic events, ranging from fusion dance, fashion walk, and tattoo design to pick-and-act and many more. Exciting open events such as ‘Squid Games,’ mobile gaming competitions, and ‘Man vs Food’ drew huge crowds and added to the thrill of the day.
Student-run stalls serving delicious food, refreshing beverages, and handmade creative items became popular gathering spots, attracting students, teachers, and visitors throughout the event. Every corner of the campus reflected the dedication and hard work of the participants and the organizing team.
The competition was intense, with each school presenting outstanding performances and innovative ideas. Judges had a challenging task selecting winners, as the level of talent on display was truly exceptional. After a day filled with enthusiasm, laughter, and artistic brilliance, The Brigade School emerged as the overall champions, proudly lifting the “Different Strokes” trophy.
The Administrator, Principal, and staff of Carmel High School expressed immense pride in hosting such a successful event. They appreciated the teamwork and commitment of the students and volunteers, who played a key role in making the fest memorable. Hindi Divas, taking pride in our linguistic heritage
Hindi Divas was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm to commemorate 14th September 1949, the day when Hindi was adopted as the official language of India. To pay tribute and highlight the significance of the country’s most widely spoken language, a series of vibrant events were organized.
The celebrations began with a melodious welcome song performed enthusiastically by the students to greet our esteemed chief guest, Dr. Manju Gupta ‘Lata’.
A number of engaging programs were presented to mark this special occasion. A skit and a dance performance beautifully depicted the importance of learning and preserving the Hindi language. All the participants looked stunning in their colorful traditional attires, adding charm to the event.
Dr. Manju Gupta enriched the program with an inspiring speech. She emphasized the purpose and pride associated with the Hindi language and delivered the powerful message: "Hindi hamaari shaan hai; desh ka abhimaan hai".
The celebration concluded on a positive note with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the students.
The day was celebrated with zeal and zest, successfully fulfilling the objective of promoting and spreading awareness about the importance of Hindi in our cultural and national identity.
The Student Council of our school organized a grand celebration on the occasion of Teachers’ Day to honour the true architects of our future – our beloved teachers.
The programme began with a heart-warming welcome. As the teachers entered the auditorium, they were greeted with a standing ovation and continuous applause from the students, filling the hall with cheer and admiration. A floral tribute was then offered to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day, in recognition of his contributions as a teacher, philosopher, and statesman.
The highlight of the celebration was the array of cultural programmes presented by the students. Teachers were entertained with graceful dance performances, a humorous classroom scenario enactment, and a series of fun activities including hurdles and an energetic round of “Dumb Charades” which brought laughter and joy to all.
As a token of love and gratitude, every teacher was gifted a coffee mug along with a beautifully hand-crafted personalized bookmark prepared by the art students, making the day even more memorable.

Our Pre-Nursery children participated in a colorful Fancy Dress Competition. The little ones dressed up beautifully in creative costumes. Each child confidently came on stage and introduced their character. The event helped children build confidence and showcase their talents.It was a joyful and memorable experience for both kids and parents. The competition was on hold on 23rd August 2025.

Our LKG children recently participated in a delightful Fancy Dress Competition on the theme Community Helpers. The little ones came dressed as doctors, teachers, farmers, police officers, firefighters, chefs, and many more, each proudly representing the people who make our communities safe, healthy, and happy.

A Fancy Dress Competition was held on 12.07.2025. Many children enthusiastically participated in the event. They dressed up as freedom fighters, great personalities, and famous sportspersons. Each child wore a costume representing a well-known figure and shared their good deeds and the reasons they are remembered and admired today.
The students of Carmel High School, Basaveshwaranagar, recently visited the Vidhana Soudha, the grandeur of Karnataka. It was a part of an educational tour and to make learning beyond the classroom. The students witnessed both legislative assembly and legislative council proceedings The trip gave practical exposure to the students regarding the functioning of the legislature and its proceedings. Over 150 students from grade 9, accompanied by our administrator Mr.Roshan Menezes, teachers and staff of Carmel high school participated in this informative experience. Students' earned their midterm internal grades using the results of the worksheet based on the understanding of their educational visit. The educational trip was both knowledgeable and exhilarating, leaving the young learner with a deeper appreciation for governmental proceedings.

The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting by Academic advisor and Principal. On August 10, 2025, our Grade 1 students at Carmel High let their creativity take shape—quite literally! The much-loved Clay Modelling Activity turned the classroom into a colourful world of imagination, laughter, and learning.
Clay modelling is more than just fun—it helps children develop creativity, aesthetic sense, social skills, problem-solving abilities, and cognitive growth. With bright eyes and eager hands, our little artists rolled, pinched, and shaped vibrant clay into realistic fruits and vegetables. Each creation reflected not just skill, but the unique ideas and joyful spirit of its maker.

In recognition of her exemplary contribution to the field of education and her adoption of innovative teaching methodologies, Mrs. Sarala Jain was conferred with the Acharya Dronacharya Award 2025 .The award ceremony was held on 27th July 2025 at the Jain University Auditorium and was organized by the NGO Rashtriya Chetana Parivar.
Mrs. Sarala was selected for this prestigious honour from among 47 applicants who had submitted their nominations for the award. Her dedication to student-centred learning and creative teaching strategies set her apart and earned her this well-deserved recognition.
The award was presented by a distinguished panel of dignitaries, including Dr. Arvind Gupta, Founder of Rashtriya Chetana Parivar, who presided over the event. The Chief Guest, Col. Carmel High School solemnly commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26th, 2024, with the active participation of 225 NCC cadets from the 39 Kar Infantry Battalion, 1 Kar Girls Battalion, and 1 Kar Air Squadron.
The event was graced by Major Raghavendra C., a decorated veteran and an inspiring presence. A Strategic Leader, Educationist, Sports Mentor, and Youth Icon, Major Raghavendra has served in key leadership roles in the NCC, including as Administrative Officer and Officiating Commanding Officer of the 1 Karnataka Signal Regiment. As Training Officer at the Group and Directorate level, he led the Karnataka & Goa Directorate to win the All India NCC Championship Banner.
In recognition of his exceptional service, he has been awarded the Chief of Army Staff’s Commendation three times—a rare and prestigious honour.
To celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of our school, the Management organized a one-day outing for the staff at Discovery Village Resort. The day began with a solemn prayer service, offered in thanksgiving to our beloved Carmel Mother.
The celebration then continued with moments of joy, relaxation, and fellowship. Teachers enjoyed the serene atmosphere of the resort and actively participated in a variety of fun activities and games. Exciting matches of cricket and beachball, thoughtfully planned and coordinated under the guidance of Tapan Sir along with the school house team captains, brought out great enthusiasm, team spirit, and cheer.
As the day drew to a close, we carried home the inspiring message shared by our Administrator, Roshan Sir, who reminded us that teaching is a true passion and that we must always live by the four Ls—Love, Lead, Listen, and Lift. He encouraged us to keep a strong head–heart connection with both our students and colleagues. His words filled us with gratitude and renewed dedication to our noble calling.
It was truly an enjoyable day, filled with togetherness, laughter, and thanksgiving. We returned refreshed, united, and ready to resume our school duties with a renewed spirit.

Musical Workshop Brings Joy to Young Learners
On July 15th, SAPA school of music hosted a special music workshop featuring Apoorva Anirudh, a talented Veena artist, and Phanindra Bhaskara, a renowned Mridanga artist.
The workshop was conducted in three interactive sessions, covering classes from Pre-Primary (LKG) to Grade 8. Students enjoyed live demonstrations, explored the beauty of Indian instruments, and learned more about our rich musical heritage.
The soulful performances and engaging interactions left our young learners inspired and eager to discover the magic of music.
Cadet Sergeant Lahiri G from the 1 Karnataka Girl's Bn NCC successfully completed the National Level EIG Shresht Bharat 12-day camp, held in Hassan from July 4th to July 15th, 2025.
Under the guidance of Camp Commanding Officer Colonel Rohit Thakur, Cadet Lahiri actively participated in all camp activities. She notably secured first place in the Inter-Directorate Group Dance Competition.

A Birthday Card Making Competition was conducted for Grade 2 on 12/07/25, students to encourage creativity and artistic expression. Health Checkup for Kindergarten Students
Our school recently organized a medical checkup for our Kindergarten children, keeping in mind that healthy children make happy learners. The program was conducted by a team of qualified doctors and nurses, who carried out a thorough examination of every child.
The checkup included measuring height, weight, vision, dental health, and general fitness. The doctors also guided parents and teachers about proper nutrition, the importance of regular exercise, and maintaining good hygiene.
Such health camps play an important role in identifying early signs of health concerns and ensuring that children grow strong and confident. The little ones were very excited and felt at ease with the friendly medical team, making the event both useful and enjoyable.
We are thankful to our school management for arranging this initiative and to the parents for their cooperation. This health checkup reminded us all that a healthy body is the foundation of a bright future.
Carmel High School had organized an exhilarating Father George Hess Memorial Literary- Debate and Declamation Competition on 21st June, 2025 showcasing the brilliant oratory skills of students across different grade at the Zonal level.
The event was presided by the Chief Guest, Ms Sandhya Menezes, President of Principal Association of PU College, Bangalore North and also the Principal of Carmel PU College.
The event started on a constructive note by engaging the audience and participants with an interactive session followed by a prayer song, lightning the lamp and the welcome speech by Shaji Antony, Principal of Carmel High School.
The participants demonstrated a remarkable grasp of the subject matter, providing well-researched insights into the given topics.

Carmel High School celebrated 11th International Yoga Day on 20th June 2025. It was ushered by the Management, school Principal, prominent academic coordinators, teachers, and students with great enthusiasm.
The event commenced with a prayer followed by a demonstration of various asanas by the yoga instructor, Mrs. Netravathy. Students from classes 6th to 10th actively participated and performed asanas like Tadasana, Pranayama, and Suryanamaskar. She also spoke about the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines for a healthy and balanced lifestyle.” Yoga is a wonderful medicine for emotional and mental woes for all ages.
International Yoga Day celebrations ended with a huge success under the supervision of the school management.
Yugantara, the much awaited inter house literary, Art and Cultural Festival took place on/20th June, 2025. The thrill of anticipation, the zeal and zest, and the vibrant energy, filled the air. Carmel High School is collaborating with the Anubhuti Welfare Foundation as part of ITC’s Wellbeing Out of Waste (WOW) initiative, India’s largest social awareness campaign on solid waste management for students. This campaign aims to foster the habit of source segregation among children, promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
As part of the initiative, students are encouraged to collect and segregate dry recyclables such as old notebooks, textbooks, plastic bottles, etc. In return, they receive new notebooks and stationery. To further motivate participation, students are awarded medals and certificates for their efforts.
This program not only helps manage waste effectively but also empowers students to become conscientious future citizens.
The Carmel High School Basaveshwaranagar buzzed with excitement as the CISCE Karnataka Regional Volleyball Tournament 2024 for the under 17 category concluded on 24th July, 2024.
The tournament conducted under the auspices of the school management and principal, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 102 boy’s teams and 51 girl’s teams across Karnataka. The inauguration ceremony was held on 23rd July 2024, was graced by the Management and Principal. The Guest of Honour was Adv T. Nanjappa (president of Kempe Gowda Volleyball sport and cultural Association, Bangalore).
Over the two days, the young athletes displayed exceptional skills and determination on the court. The talent on display was truly remarkable. The grand Valedictory ceremony was held on 24th July, 2024, marking the culmination of the tournament. The Chief Guest, Ms Shreya S Naidu, a renowned National Volleyball player and Mr Kim Oja Noble, executive Committee member, ICSE School association shared valuable insights with the young players.
The winners in the boys category were BGS Model public school (Mandya) and Shantiniketan school, Bilekahali emerged as the worthy runners up. In the Girls’ category, New Horizon public school emerged victorious and SSM public school secured the runners-up position, putting on a commendable performance. The third prize in the boys category was bagged by ST Joseph High School and in the girls category , it was bagged by Carmel Convent school.
This tournament served as a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, and encourage sportsmanship.
On July 16th, 2024, our school community came together joyfully to celebrate the
Carmel Feast, a cherished tradition that holds deep significance for us all. This special
occasion marked a day of unity, reflection, and festivity as we commemorated the life and
teachings of our patron saint, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The festivities commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, a solemn prayer
service to offer prayers of gratitude and devotion. The service was led by Rev. Fr. Vivian
Richard, who reminded us of the virtues exemplified by the patron—compassion,
humility, and unwavering faith.
On July 15th, 2024, our school celebrated the grand opening of a new terrace play area
and yoga space. This transformative initiative, led by esteemed yoga teacher Mrs. Komal
Shinde, marks a significant step toward enhancing students' physical well-being,
creativity, and mindfulness.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the school management, principal, academic
coordinators, and enthusiastic children from classes I and II. Their presence highlighted
the importance of holistic education and the integration of physical activity and
mindfulness practices into the school curriculum.
Carmel High School recently celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21st, 2024. Arhan of VIII B enlightened the audience on the importance of Yoga Day. Selected students explored various yoga styles and advanced asanas, gaining insights into their contributions to physical fitness and mental clarity. The stage then came alive with a dazzling array of performances. Mesmerizing dance routines captivated the audience, while soulful musical acts stirred emotions. Each house presented a diverse range of talents, showcasing the dedication and hard work put in by both students and teachers.

Topaz house emerged victorious, their diverse and energetic showcase taking the top prize. It served as a platform for students to express themselves, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and school pride.

The newly elected student council members donned the mantle of leadership, vowing dedication to the school and acting as a bridge between faculty and students. The esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs Vibha Harish, Co-founder and CEO of COSMIX, along with her partner Mr Soorya Jagadish, CPO of COSMIX, graced the event alongside school management.

A contingent of 48 cadets from Carmel High School, led by Second Officer Mrs. Roopashree and Camp Senior Cadet Aditi S, participated in the CATC camp held at Brindavan Garden College of Engineering, Bangalore, from June 2nd to June 11th, 2024.
Organized by the 1 KAR GIRLS BN NCC, the camp brought together cadets from 13 institutions, including seven schools and six colleges. It provided a valuable opportunity for Carmel High School cadets to develop their skills, knowledge, and camaraderie.
The camp offered an enriching blend of theoretical and practical lessons in various topics, including weapon training, map reading, cybercrime awareness, POSCO, career education, field craft, battlecraft, health, and hygiene. The cadets also showcased their talents and skills in a drill competition, unique talent performances, and 100m and 200m races.
The CATC camp proved to be a rewarding experience for the NCC cadets. They not only gained valuable knowledge and skills but also fostered a sense of teamwork and discipline.
On November 17, 2023, Carmel High School radiated with energy and excitement as it celebrated Children's Day. The vibrant atmosphere was adorned with the sparkle of students dressed in their casual best, creating moments of pure joy for everyone involved.
The day commenced with a heartwarming assembly prayer led by teachers in the school uniform, setting a tone of reverence. A homage to the beloved Jawaharlal Nehru was paid, commemorating his role in the establishment of Children's Day. The festivities reached new heights as the school honored its National athletic champions, Vikram Gowda and Anjana Anand, with well-deserved cash prizes.
Adding a touch of humor and creativity, teachers took the stage in a lively skit, incorporating song, dance, and fashion walks set to popular Bollywood and Sandalwood tunes. The 21st Alexander Memorial Volleyball and Throw Ball tournaments, held on November 8 and 9, 2023, showcased the vibrant sports culture among Bangalore's youth. Approximately 25 schools participated, bringing forth a spectacle of talent and determination.
St. Joseph School, Chamrajpet, emerged triumphant in volleyball, displaying stellar teamwork and securing the championship title, while the hosts, Carmel High School claimed a well-deserved second place. In the Throw Ball competition, Samved School exhibited agility and precision, clinching the top spot, with the host school, Carmel High School, securing second place.
The tournaments were graced by the presence of Mr. Keerthi H S, a National Kabaddi player, who emphasized the crucial link between physical health and success in athletics. The atmosphere was charged with the values of discipline and teamwork, reinforcing the essence of sportsmanship.

ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆಲ್ಲರ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಹಬ್ಬ. ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಸಹ ಕಾರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಸಡಗರ, ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದ ತುಂಬೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಾವುಟಗಳು ರಾರಾಜಿಸಿದವು. ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಂಪು, ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣಗಳಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಾದ ರಂಗೋಲಿ, ತಾಯಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಲಂಕಾರ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬಣ್ಣಬಣ್ಣದ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಟ್ಟು ಬಣ್ಣದ ಚಿಟ್ಟೆಗಳಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಲರವ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಂಗಣದ ತುಂಬೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಬ್ಬದ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿತ್ತು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವು 'ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ' ಎಂದು ಮರುನಾಮಕರಣವಾಗಿ 2023 ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ಕ್ಕೆ ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ ಶುಭ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಆದೇಶದಂತೆ “ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ-50' ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ 'ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಉಸಿರಾಗಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ' ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಕಲೆ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಡುನುಡಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಕವಿಗಳ ರಚನೆಯ ಐದು ಗೀತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿ 'ನುಡಿನಮನ' ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ, ಗಣ್ಯರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿ, ತಾಯಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಿಗೆ ಪುಷ್ಪ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಭಗವಂತನ ಸ್ತುತಿಯನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ನೃತ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಂಡ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅದ್ಭುತ ನಿರೂಪಣೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು-ನುಡಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಗೀತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನರ್ಸರಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪುಟಾಣಿಗಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ನೃತ್ಯ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮನಸೂರೆಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಮುಂದುವರೆದಂತೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಲನ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ನಟ-ನಟಿಯರ ಛದ್ಮವೇಷ, ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಸಂದೇಶ, ಗುರು-ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ನಾಟಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನಪದ ನೃತ್ಯಗಳು ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಮೆರುಗನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟವು. ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತಮಾಡಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದ ಮಹನೀಯರನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಮಿಷನರಿಗಳ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದದ್ದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಶಾಲೆ ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತೆಗೆಯುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯವಾದ ವಿಚಾರ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಸರಿಯಾದ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ವತಃ ಅವರೇ ರಚಿಸಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಬಹುಮಾನವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದರು, ಇದು ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಮ್ಮಸ್ಸನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿತು. ನಂತರ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ. ರೋಶನ್ ಮೆನೆಜಸ್ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭವ್ಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಕುರಿತು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಜೋರಾದ ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
